I run a MacBook Air with
OS X 10.10.5 (14F2511) as the operating system and on some websites I get a message similar to this
I'd love to know what to do (if I can do anything!) to remedy this "problem".

Any ideas you wonderful computer boffins? Please keep it simple as I only drive the computer, I don't know how it works!

If it can connect to other sites then itā€™s probably a problem with that particular site.
Try connecting with another device

Try switching the wifi connection off and back on again in Settings. I have had this problem a lot since Sky sent me a new modem.

I see this message occasionally with my MacBook Pro, it always seems to be either a fault with the site I'm trying to connect to or I've wandered to far from the wifi connection.
If all else fails turn it off, count to 5 and turn it back on again.........

More than toes wet now!
It's probably due to the website your are trying to view having an expired, or no, SSL\TLS security certificate. Apple changed the maximum term period for these to just over a year earlier this year.

OK FOLKS! I downloaded Firefox (dead easy, even for a numptie like me!) and those websites I was previously unable to view are now accessible. Thank you one and all for giving me the incentive to be bold and try something new! Oh yes, I'm just testing Firefox opens my favourite site - so here I am!
