Rye Scallop Festival (1 Viewer)

Hi, we are planning to take the van to Rye next month for the scallop festival. Does anyone know any good all year round sites close to the town?
Is anyone else planning to go, if so might be good to meet up at some point, we plan go 16th to 20th Feb

We did the Scallop festival about 7 years ago and stopped at the River Haven hotel, very convenient.

Hi Manic, I contacted the River Haven Hotel on the basis if you don't ask you don't get and they came back to me with £20 a night plus £3.50 for elec which I thought wasn't bad. Do you know if you park up in their car park or the yard at the side of them?

Your right manic, we payed a fiver for all day parking.More unscrupulous profiteering me thinks.

I emailed the River Haven Hotel today they said:-

Dear Helen

We don’t allow paring in our own hotel carpark but the next to the hotel you can stay for a charge of £5 per night

The Haven hotel is a good spot for an overnight. @Robert Clark photo isn't the actual one its the car park to the right of that look on google earth. I have used this carpark a few times but you can't always get in early to mid morning is best. I have also seen vans in the station carpark overnight and a few miles away a few places you can wild camp at pett levels.

Thanks very much guys for your help. They can stick their £5 where the sun don't shine.

I have had a rethink and we plan to stay at Kloofs at Bexhill on sea. It's a bit of a distance from Rye but a much nicer site by all accounts.

Your help has been brilliant.
