RV Genny problem (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

The onboard genny on my RV is misbehaving.

When I try and start it it fires up fine and sound like it is running okay but as soon as I release the remote start switch - it dies instantly.

If I keep the remote start switch held in - it stays running for longer (30 secs) but then dies even with the button held in.

All the while the light on the remote switch is flashing constantly.

I have half a tank of fuel, full batteries and it worked last time I tried it.

Any ideas what's wrong?

TIA

Bryan

A Woosh bang
Prime suspect is * Low oil level

other things to check

* Low oil pressure

* Sticky choke linkage

* Check the generator AC voltage output.

Other voltage tests require an Operating Manual, Troubleshooting charts and learned personnel.

Does it start on the genny mounted switch ?

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'll check them out as soon as I can as not near RV at the moment.

Pat, it had a new circuit board recently so that should hopefully be ruled out (hopefully)

The flashing light is a fault code, refer to manual for guidance

Hi Bryan
On the Generac ? on our truck-camper we eventually went to a generator Co.
There are quite a few circuits to check out that can give your symptons------on mine all were ok--------eventual cure (we hope ) is to replace 1 of the 2 PCBs. (still not fitted as genny has to come out to fit it----a job for when I have time !!------If I remember correctly, the US board controls the Hertz)
Nigel
I hope yours is a simple fix ! !
