RV’ing in the US (1 Viewer)

Has anyone any experience renting an RV in the US.
Thinking of visiting some of the national parks on the west of the rockies

Hired a 7-berth one in Boston for two of us!

Had to spend 30 minutes watching a video of how all the habitation stuff works. Then handed the keys. No questions asked about my ability to drive a LHD 30 footer.

100 dollar limit on fuel pumps meant that I couldn't fill the tank in one go ;-)

I've read some of the campsites in national parks get very busy and booking is essential.

Also, we weren’t allowed to hire within 24 hours of a transatlantic flight

Have hired RVs three times in the US , great way to holiday. Have rented from Cruise America and El Monte , both ok but others available.

Don’t know what their cut is but would possibly cost less without a middle man.
Could look at www.motorhomeexperts.co.uk who are agents for Cruise America.
We planned and booked ours through a travel agent which gives security in the event of problems, they handled flights hotels and RV booking.
Our last trip we did the whole lot ourselves which was no problem.
