Body shop just sent me this picture. Glad I never needed to be pulled from a ditch with this thing .

Surprising how many people mistake lashing rings for towing eyes.
That's used to tie the vehicle down while being transported hence it faces downwards, not forwards

Oops! Just realised it is pointing forwards.

Looks like it hasn’t corroded the chassis member. Grind it off and re weld a new one and seal for the next 10 years.

The whole of the front cross member is being replaced as it was riddle with rust as well. In fact a lot of work has been done the last 3 months its been in the shop both back and front as well as the gas system. Should be getting it back next week and the shop that did it has been taking photos of before and after so hopefully will be able to post on here with them.
