Russia - Ukraine - Your Travel Plans ?

I would like to think that things in the far west will continue as fairly normal, but after 2 years of having plans changed/ thwarted/ cancelled/ modified I suspect any plans will have to bow to the inevitable [whatever that may be]. I'm off to Portugal in a months time and I suspect my biggest challenge will be the cost of diesel and possible shortages of the same.

Van delivery is now delayed to some indeterminate date in the future. Boat has as usual for winter brimmed tanks of 1000l but I reckon now just short jaunts and not the chug up to the Thames we were contemplating. Just a few headland hops out from Plymouth I think!
 
Yes we had a ferry booked to Greece 13th April, we had to pay for it by the 1st March.
As it was £405 we decided that with the uncertainty we would cancel at no cost.
will instead go back to Portugal and explore the northern half which we have only transited through.
 
Still going on our 3 month tour around Europe, wish I’d filled my tank up on the way back from Edinburgh at Christmas, will be interesting and depressing watching the diesel prices though 🤔
 
I think my navigators idea to try some cycling in Romania has just been put on hold!

I guess we will head somewhere else but who knows when or where!

Off to Florida tomorrow, should be OK (I think) unless Putin want his arse kicking by swmbo for spoiling her holiday but on a serious side we are due to go to Spain end of April do you think we will be OK 🤞 🤞

And here was I in Poland, thinking that if we had to leave this country then one of the safest places would be a Greek island.

Greece has never been part of USSR so why would Putin want it? And it is a long way from Moscow.

My plan A was booked to fly to Spain next week.

I can change but just hoping the People of of the Ukraine have one.

We’ve been twice to Ukraine in our van before and really sad to see this happen to the people there. I should add we have also travelled the length of Russia by train and were treated with real kindness by the Russians. The people always suffer in war for the sake of politicians egos.

But i am certainly not changing plans to travel to Spain next week.
 
Amazing how folk react having access to the Internet and Social Media....cannot imagine there are many on Fun who remember what happened first hand during previous conflicts. They just got on with their lives, put up with it....DON'T PANIC come to mind.....:rolleyes:
 
Elder son plus girlfriend fly to Bangladesh on Sunday to visit darling daughter, hope Qatar airways adjust their normal flight plan a bit I have to say as they had gone back to flying over Ukraine I think after that Malaysian plane was shot down a few years back. Oh damn, something else to worry about.
 
No changes at all. Not now, not for the rest of the year.
Not going to let a megalomaniac autocrat mess up our post covid adventures.
