I expect this question has been asked many times before, but as a new boy I will ask AGAIN!
When parked up for a few hours, 4 or 5, is it best to run the fridge on gas or leisure battery? I have a 110a/h battery

Hi, it does not run on the leisure battery. If on "auto" it will first search for 240v (hook up) then it looks to see if the engine is running, if it is the fridge will run off the engine battery. If not it then goes onto gas assuming your gas bottle is open.

Hope this helps. ::bigsmile:

what ken forgot to mention.....if its the older style fridge with only manual switching then run on gas for short periods, not forgetting to switch back to 12v when you move off, and hookup or gas for longer stays.

as ken said....its designed to only run on 12v if the engine is running.
if it ran on the battery alone it would flatten it dead in around 4 to 5 hours.

Thanks for the help guys. It is an old manual fridge so I will do as you say and run for short periods on gas.
