Hi can anyone tell me if it's possible to run a normal printer off a leisure battery, do we require converters etc?

a normal domestic printer is 240v so you would need a small inverter to run it off 12v

As I'm a novice would you mind recommending the kind of inverter i'd need? Many thanks.

because it might be a little bit sensitive, I would use a pure sine wave inverter. Prices start quite cheap on ebay for small 600w models

Look at the label to see the power (watts) it requires. If the label gives the amps (A) instead of the watts then multiply the amps by the volts (240V probably) to get the watts required. I'd guess the power is less than 100 watts (mine is a lot less, more like 15 watts).

You can get a 'Pure Sine Wave' Inverter that's 150W, and that wattage is small enough to plug into a cigarette-lighter socket. Anything bigger requires wiring direct to the battery.

Inverters have a small but definite drain on the battery, even when not powering anything. Best to disconnect them or switch them off unless actually being used.
