Run to the sun….

Love it here and the weather is lovely and warm/hot during the day and cosy in the van at night with no need for heating at all…
It has been so cold here overnight in Benidorm with clear starry skies, we've had to have the heating on low, otherwise the internal temperature gets down to 11 degrees. :whatthe:

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Not true son, I like the van warm inside when we are up but never run heating overnight in van or house.

Do you have those super duper 300 tog quilts then? 😄

4.5 tog kept the summer ones on in both house and van for the last two winters.

Actually we never have the heating on at night either, not at home nor in MH which is why we had ice on the inside of the windows on our way through France at Saint Chely d'Apcher in December when the temperature dropped to -6 outside, it didn't help that we'd been using the pressure cooker so there was more moisture in the MH than normal.

Tonight were at the same place and it's very cold so we had the heating on until 11.00 pm and I've deployed my single duvet on top of my double! Tazzy's sulking though as she's been laid on the folded duvet for 6 weeks so she's now lost her 'snuggly bed'. 😄

Ice inside again this morning! 😳. BBC weather said it was at best -4 and it was certainly very cold in the early hours ... thank goodness for double duvets! 😄

Our duvet is 4.5 tog but supplemented with a fleece blanket when it’s really cold!
I assume you sleep in the same bed? It certainly helps as each others body warmth keeps the bed temp higher overall. Unfortunately our Tazzy won't snuggle, she just snorts! 😄

Double drop down bed over driving seats.
Pippa comes to bed in the mornings and snuggles a treat, you have to put up with being well kissed tho!
Hubby or dogs? 😋

The Boofles are out site seeing and giving their van a run after their little problem and all seems to be well with them so it appears a lot of sand and dust in the air filter was the problem, note to self… don’t drive through sandstorms..😆🤣

Jackie has moved on after me giving her van a check over of cleaning out the air filter and the resident mechanic took it away to give it a good blowout on a compressor free of charge and wouldn’t take any dirhams off her that she was trying to force in his hand…🙂
Pumped her tyres up so she’s all ready to go. And gone…👋🏼

Also checked my own filter and gave the engine bay a brush out so after all that hard work I’m relaxing for the rest of the day…🍻☀️😎

Yes it’s true … been for a drive out to Tiznit and back and all is good under the bonnet 👍
Going forward we are definitely going to a) avoid as much sand as possible and b) check the weather forecast for high winds and, if we fail at those - then find shelter pdq 🤣
Onwards and upwards …..
In other news, we are absolutely loving our first time in Morocco. It’s a trip that’s been four years in the making, thanks to Covid -but we are not at all disappointed. It’s clearly a marmite kind of place and it would seem we like marmite 😋 🤣

5 years to the day.... but no more sense 🤔

strange thing is that there is no problem at the one next door, who also refilled their swimming pool. Be careful with Ali, we saw him turn on a few people and he has apparently put my number on some FB site because he apparently thinks I took more than the 50 litres he said I could take. ( He puts a counter on the tap) We were there 11 nights. Using our own shiwers etc because the site was rammed for most of the time and the hot water wasn't working fir much of it.

If he filled it, then he must have been there a long time. It took me a good 10 minutes to get 50 litres, next time you go into the bin, there is a manifold in there with the main tap turned right down.

I thought this tale might be of interest to those in Morocco and offer some reassurance.

We met a couple, not Funsters, who the man had a chest infection. He’d had it since the beginning of Jan but was getting worse. His partner went to the Pharmacy and they promptly gave her a 7 day course of some stronger antibiotics. £8.

Subsequently he didn’t improve and they visited the hospital in Essaouira. Seen promptly on arrival by English speaking staff. Bed found, intravenous fluids given, x-ray, MRI and bloods taken. All back quickly diagnosed with inflamed bronchial passages. Drugs administered, course for 5 days. Come back to hospital to monitor condition in 5 days. Total cost change from £200.

I’ve never met anyone who has use the Moroccan medical services so thought this might be useful to know.

I caught whooping cough last February whilst in Morocco, thought it was the flu and carried on as you do on holiday but then got worse quite quickly and ended up at a private hospital in Tangiers blood tests & scans etc diagnosed with whooping cough & pneumonia put on a drip, given antibiotics the size of horse tablets and then onto some type of ventilator thing lol but the place was like a 5 star hotel I even had sea views and they allowed the camper to stay safely locked in their car park of the hospital all in all treated like a king with state of the art technology and equipment and the grub was delicious spent 3 days there and didn't want to leave! 🤣
No idea of cost, the insurance sorted all that out

I was married to a Barry whose initials were B A S, so he was known as Bas but pronounced the same. And his mother deliberately christened him Barry because she didn't like names being shortened, hence people used to lengthen it instead so eg Baswold and Barrimore but both of those annoyed him though he never informed those people he didn't like it but he wouldn't tell them since he considered that would be rude. As he always responded perfectly OK to what those people said anyway cos he knew they were talking to him rather than to anyone else in earshot - I certainly wasn't going to speak on his behalf! Hate that - yes often what we each say is correct - BUT I don't want a squabble when I disagree!
