Run to the sun….

Leaving tafraroute as it’s too cold at night..🥶🥶

Warmer in Cornwall..😆

Will come back up when it gets warmer.. either heading back to sidi ifni or elsewhere..

The Boofles have got a problem so I might be able to help them there.. international rescue is on the way..🚀🛸

And….. welcome back CaptainPaul didn’t even have time to send me a postcard…☺️😉
He might have gone to Coventry but I think it was in the DBS as he was back before he went 😂

Not sure Jon, Smiffy said something was up but haven't heard anything more, I'm presuming it's the van but hopefully nothing too serious
Thanks everyone - hopefully nothing too serious 🤞
We totally lost power coming up the hills from Guelmim into Sidi Ifni yesterday. I’m hoping it’s something simple such as sand/dust clogging the air filters (it was mighty windy at Tarfaya) but, I am not a mechanic by any stretch, neither is Mr Boofle so … the mobile mechanic is coming back this afternoon after having a quick look last night.

Hey Garry, hate to tell you this but we had a lovely hot pork sarnie for lunch and it's egg, bacon and fried spuds for tea!

Catch me if you can. :imoutahere:

😄

Looks like Essaouira? Are you chancing staying by the camels tonight Paul?
No Jon I'll be heading out to Le Calme but I think Garry stayed out by the camels a couple of weeks back and had no problem overnighting
I stayed out at le calme last trip and rented a wee car for a few days to use in and out of Essaouira as the motorhome parking near the medina etc is all gone now unfortunately 😑

That’s where I stayed for a couple of nights Paul.. 👍🏼

The mechanics have dismantled most of egr throttle body etc…
Could be filter as no eml lights came on… there at the mercy of the mechanics now who are getting a new filter…🤞🏼

In my limited experience they're usually quite honest Garry and don't rip the balls out of it with labour prices

Yeah he’s nearly the resident mechanic so he wouldn’t be here if he was bad, half of what I meant is they’ve taken all the bits with him so there’s nothing I can do, I’ll have a good look when it’s all done…😎

Got some fantastic pictures of our journey down today from Tafraoute but I’ve got rubbish Wi-Fi, hopefully get it sorted tomorrow and I’ll post them…

Had a look at a couple of places that do the spraying while there yesterday and did fancy the place where Tam got his done, everything out in the open, I’ve got metallic paint so it’s going to be undercoat paint and then lacquer… the other garage I saw did all the prep work outside but my van will fit into their workshop, had a Quick Look at their work and it was ok but I only saw flat paint so when/if I’m there I’ll double check before I commit…

But from what I saw of tafraoute it looked a little lively place with lots of cafes restaurants and a little medina so plenty to do while I’m waiting plus the scenery is sublime and geography amazing…😳😳

Was planning on heading to Tafraoute tomorrow from Aglou, but may now head further south to Sidi Ifni if it’s that cold at night lol

Wish I’d had the foresight to photograph various engine parts dissembled and (quite lovingly, I thought) laid out on the ground … he’s given us a little package of various nuts, bolts, screws etc all wrapped up in a little rag … best not misplace those eh 🤔
He also counted back in to his tool sets the various socket thingy’s, spanners and screwdrivers which, when you read about some peoples’ experience of hospital surgery, is quite reassuring really 🤣

As long as he doesn’t mislay the 10mm socket…😆😉

We used to wait til mid/end of feb before heading there. Always a lot colder at night being that high up, but plenty warm enough during daytime.

Tafroute is at 3,900 ft and Ben Nevis is only 4,400!

😎

One thing I’ve observed about Morocco is that no matter where you are and how desolate it seems there will always be a Moroccan close by and pop up out of the blue.

Funsters who have been to Morocco will have some understanding of this observation… I get the impression that every square yard of Morocco has been picked over by several Moroccans….🤔

I have a Moroccan friend who lives in Ksar es Seghir up beside Tangiers Med port and he worked with us in Ireland for almost 20 years and he told me long before we ever came to here he said to me one time, Mr Paul you are never alone in Morocco and he was 100% correct lol

It’s not just Morocco, it’s the same in Far Eastern Turkey,
We were recovering a Huey chopper way up in the mountains in an area uninhabited for miles and miles ( it had a “ heavy landing” 😆)
Out of absolutely nowhere came a Turkish goat header to see what was going on. Pulled up a rock and just watched.

As we flew out I saw no habitation for probably 50 miles or more. In any direction 🤷‍♂️

We were parked up at Erg Chebbi in the Sahara one year and I got up to go for a walk into the desert a bit as I thought this would be a great place for my morning meditation and within 5 mins this boy appears trying to sell me this stuff, he had a wee bag & pockets like a circus clown the amount of stuff he pulled out 🤣
We were miles from anywhere and it was 6.00 o'clock in the morning!
