Hi all. We recently lost one of the little rubber 'caps' on which the lids of our Dometic hob/sink rest when closed. I have made a temporary fix with gorilla tape (see attached photo just below the kettle which is confusingly in the sink!), but I'm keen to find a replacement. Apparently Dometic sell a kit of all 8 caps and associated bolts/screws, but for around £25 which is a bit annoying. Has anyone else lost one of these caps and found a suitable replacement? Thanks.

We took the screw out and put it into one of the flip top plastic screw covers.Replaced them all for consistency. You might find just the cap itself will pop on.

You are not on your own with these pesky little caps we have given up replacing them now and just put a tea towel under the glass cover when traveling to stop the rattle 🤷‍♂️

Can you please tell me where you got them from?

I’ve been thinking for years about having some made in China. Somewhere (I know not) if you supply a sample it will be copied as many things are and produced in bulk. I’d like to think it could be done for pennies with a big enough order then advertise on eBay etc.
We use a tea towel while on the move too 👍

We use a Lakeland drying mat (£ 7.99) that sits under the glass hob cover when travelling then use it for it’s intended purpose when on site.Works a treat!!

Couldn't you just form a blob of silicon in each hole?

I mean these things from e bay or most hardware shops.
They work fine and challenges the stupid prices often charged for motorhome specific items.
Hopefully the growth of 3D printing for small items will also help

I lost one once but found it some distance from the hob. How it got that far amazed me! I'm sure you've looked for ages but its got to be there somewhere. Mine was near the drivers footwell!!

What happens when the wife smashes the glass??:whistle2:

Which brings me nicely to.....Does anyone know where I can get one half of a split glass sink cover:swear2:

Have seen a lot of suggestions on Facebook groups & tried one but when the hob was lit the smell was awful so ended up buying the real thing. The material needs to have excellent heat resistance - not tried it but several have bought silicone tube with such properties & cut off small sections that fit.

Thanks for the tip. Could you see them on the website or did you have to call them? I have been going round in circles.
Just watch out for their postage/packing prices. Eye-watering prices for the things themselves then huge postage/packing on top. I'd head for fleabay, much as I hate them.

Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions and further info!
