I got this a couple of days ago, I was due some parcels but thought better of opening, but was very close. I read somewhere that this had happened to someone and the had their account cleared out. Ah the very story I read yesterday

I Make Schoolboy Errors!
This one is unfortunately too common, and apparently very easy to fall victim to it. Some well publicised victims who have lost a lot of money when they've given some details and then purportedly been called by "bank" suggesting they've been scammed and need to move money. A domino effect :(

The other day I received six calls, apparently from BT, threatening to disconnect my land line.
Interesting thing was that they came from six different phones.

I too have had the "Royal Mail" email from a sender with a very dubious email address and they "tried leaving the parcel on 3/22/21...... " I wasn't aware that this date format was used anywhere other than in the USA! Another one for the recycling bin. Now, how do I get rid of those pesky "BT/Amazon/Tax/..." telephone calls that flood in at all hours of day and night?

Inflations racked up, glad I got my message last week, it was only £1.99 then ;)

I snapped the day I had 10 calls from the same company! We bought a BT8600 which has a call guard system and this has solved all those problems. 😊

I'm a newbie
OkJust had an email from 'royal mail' about a missed delivery
They've moved on because they're not asking for money so people are more likely to click the link
Looks good

Except if you hold your finger on the link it's not royal mail

On and off for many years.
I've also had email demands for money from a collection agency so a parcel from abroad could be delivered. I wasn't expecting anything and it looked dodgy so ignored the message.

Then I got a call from a relative who lives overseas to say the parcel he had sent me had been returned as the customs duty and VAT had not been paid. If I had known about the parcel I would have checked the company demanding the money but who knows if I would have paid or not?

I've had the Amazon Prime renewal subscription scam; the Royal Mail delivery scam; the Microsoft Internet Unauthorised Use Intended Prosecution scam; The HMRC Unpaid Taxes Intended Prosecution scam; and the HSBC Unauthorised Device attempted connection scam over the last month [HSBC has a warning on its authenticated Online Banking Site, pointing out that HSBC Messages etc will have a HSBCUK Header NOT a Mobile Phone number!].

If I get one more scam, I can choose between a Year's Supply of Viagra or a share of a Nigerian General's money smuggling from Nigeria to the UK as a prize. All I have to do is register for free on a website, and they even post a link for convenience ...
