Route to Spain info (1 Viewer)

Ok, tunnel booked for the 6th Nov and cant wait!

We're off to Costa Calida / Totana area for winter and would like some route info please.
As we have a fairly heavy 5th wheel on the back of a Jap pick-up, I'm not interested in the central route (Clairmont -Ferrand / Somport). Done it once, fantastic but never again with this set up.

So, west coast route for us down to Biaritz and then across to Zaragossa etc.


QUESTIONS.

1. Is there a sensible toll free alternative to the A28 Rouen - Tours thats suitable for larger units. Speed isn't of the essenence but fuel consumption is certainly a consideration.

2. What's the latest situation re the N10 tolls now?

Never used the A28... After Rouen go to Chartes and straight down the N10..
All the trucks use it so no issues with you rig..

The A63 south of Bordeaux is now converted to toll road, the bit that was free is now around €5.60 for a standard motorhome.. No idea how they class yours.. Not easy to get around either as main roads do not run alongside..

A63 I mentioned is also known as the N10 is that the bit you wanted to know about...

N10 between Chartes and Angloueme is a mix if single and dual carriageways.
Angouleme down to Bordeaux is dual carriage way all apart from about 10km and that due to be replaced..
