Going to drive down from Calais to this campsite (about a hour from Piedmont) in Italy in a couple of days time

I want to avoid driving on narrow mountain passes etc as new to motorhome driving. I don't mind paying toll roads, using long tunnels or taking a longer route if necessary as long as I can find the safest, easiest route for driving this time round.

Any suggestions and advice is very welcome

We rode the motorcycle back from Tuscany via Sandrigo to see friends

Le Roche en Ardennes

Loved it and will almost certainly do it again.

It may sound a bit mundane but we use AA route planner first to look at possible routes if we've got a long distance to go. It always gives you main roads including motorways. You cantweak it then to suit yourself.

If going through Switzerland don't forget your motorway pass (you can get them at the services) not all do but a big fine if caught

Google maps is good and will plot a route using the best roads..

or Via Michelin is also excellent , chose quickest route in options

.. but most sat navs will also do the same if you select fastest route
