Trying to get all our ducks in order before we head down to Spain at the beginning of December. Have sorted all the paperwork and got duplicate copies of everything. My query is the tyres and whether we need snow chains? We normally head down via Somport Tunnel but with not having travelled down so late in the year we were debating if it would be a better route to go via Irun? We have the Michelin Agilis 215/70/R15 camping tyres that are marked M+S (suitable for mud and snow but not officially winter tyres). I’m obviously aware that the weather last year has no bearing on what it will be this year but wondered what route Funsters have taken when travelling south late in the year and do we legally need snow chains or is the M+S marking sufficient to allow us to get to Spain?
