Route advice required (1 Viewer)

we’re off to Greece in a fortnight and are taking a ferry from Venice. I have previously used the Mont Blanc tunnel but our current van is 3.5m high and 7.5t so I’m looking for an alternative (preferably toll free) route.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I usually use Simplon for that route, then down towards Milan and head East through Brescia. Toll free except in IT of course.

Snow was about 2m on the Simplon yesterday when i came back from Venice but the road was quite clear.

We'll do it in the van in a few weeks time, we usually stop for lunch and a snowball fight on the top, then appreciate the +15º around Majorie later on.

Top tip: stop at the shopping mall at Ossola, nice big supermarket there. If not a drive into Verbania if you fancy a small diversion.
