Any one done Route 66 on a bike or car for that matter, things not to miss things not to bother with etc, got a mate who wants to do it, Said I'd ask on here!

Not personally but might be worth trying to see Robbie Coltran trip. It wasn't your typical doco type trip.

I think Billy Connelly did the trip too, quite entertaining. May be on YouTube if you look.
I think much of the original road has been replaced by 21st century freeway but if you turn off you can find sections of road and communities still there with interesting characters and scenery.
