Evening Funsters. We are just back from a 7 week trip en le continent. Feeling very deflated and in need of a quick fix for us and Le Van! Thinking about popping to Roundhill in the New Forest for a recharge. Just down the road from us but we are wondering if it's a good site to visit. We have been to Denny Wood nearby which we enjoyed but really value your experiences, sooo go one share, pretty please!

Getting better month by month.
Roundhill used to be our favourite. We would get out to it every opportunity until... I found Ocknell. Now it is a very close run contest. Roundhill for the straight gravel paved tracks opposite and around Stockley Aerodrome. But we do like the rugged walks around Ocknell and the open heathland. Roundhill bigger, but Ocknell has grass and hardstanding. Roundhill shower blocks and dog wash, Ocknell toilet block only. Without kids this time of year, I may still go for Roundhill.

Thank you Zigisla. Sounds like Roundhill may be our destination

since 2014!
Have you tried Setthorn's? Same area, level walking on the old railway bed, superb forest walks around the adjacent enclosures, and an excellent pub a walk away in Sway. Add the ponies who wander freely past your windows, and it's close to perfect! Open all year round, too!!

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Roundhill is big but out of season you can get lost in a quiet corner, great for cycling.
Setthorns is good but quite different, good for walking but any decent cycle rides means using some roads.
