We want to replace the one over the bed and the one in the shower. Both are the same size and as the MH is an 04 they don't pop up so easily any more. They are the kind that has a twist dial on to raise them.
We'd like to replace them with clear one. So my question is, how do we measure the size? At the moment I can obviously easily measure the plastic trim under the vent but do we need to remove them to measure the hole? I'm thinking that measuring the plastic under them it will be slightly smaller the the roof hole. Plus we want a different type of vent. Thanks in advance.

As above👍 or measure inside plastic to plastic add about 40 mm chances are they will be 400 mm sq.
Magnums at Grimsby have a good selection of vents cheap👍
Edit look online 😉they will. Post

Thank you very much. They actually measure 360mm inside the plastic and most I've seen online are 400mm which is why I wondered how to measure.

If your preferred choice of skylight is not available in the slightly smaller size, a couple of metres of masking tape, a pencil and a jigsaw will make the hole bigger. An easy job for you Colin

360mm (14") tends to be an American size there are plenty of replacements available in both 360 & 400mm.

If you are measure 360 plastic to plastic then as I said in previous post it will be plus 40 = 400 👍😉

Thank you all, very helpful as usual. And thank you John (y)(y)(y)

The inside trim is usually quite easy to remove and then you can measure the actual hole. The two standard sizes are quite similar so not a good idea to guess.
