I have a 1996 Renault Elddis Eclipse motorhome. I have changed the roof vent over the kitchen for a Fiamma vent. I now want to change the roof vent over the cab bed, near the front and in the middle of the roof. I struggled enough trying to reach the kitchen vent, off a step ladder, I cannot reach the front vent at all off a step ladder, has anybody got one of these vans and changed the front vent, is it actually safe to get on the roof, without the fear of damaging the van. PS I am 74, 6ft 2 ins and 18 stone, not exactly a fairy. The pic was taken before I changed the kitchen vent.

It’s not safe, so let some one else do it, instruct him to lay scaffold boards over the roof with some foam mats underneath to protect the roof, the scaffold boards will spread the load …..👍

Don't know how your roof is structured but if I have to do anything that requires me on our motorhome roof I borrow the grand kids surf body boards with a large old towel underneath to prevent scratches.
The bodyboard is polystyrene and great spreading the load and saving your knees.

I have another Fiamma to fit, the existing one blows open at any kind of motorway speed. It`s one of the push up types.
