This small roof light is fitted in our Weinsberg and while I have opened it slightly I do not seem to have the correct technique, and it appears to now be jammed

The cross bar seemed to have a little movement on it and allowed the two hooks to release the window and move back slightly on the ratchet slides. It is now stuck and I do not wish to force it

Anyone any experience with this type of vent?

TIA

Have you tried twisting the cross bar, it might release catches either side..?

i guess it opens on the ratchet so those ratchets must disengage somehow... lots of fiddling is needed I think.... good luck..

Looks like mine, you need to pull down on the cross bar to release it from the serated stay. It will then slide forwards or backwards to raise or lower.

The sliding part is attached to the window by a bracket which has a screw in it, in a slot. The left bracket slides in the slot and the right bracket is solid. There is no movement on the crossbar. It is obviously jammed and I need to have the confidence to get rough with it

we looked at those when we changed our vents and decided they didnt look very durable

....just incase anyone searches old threads and comes across the issue mentioned by the OP.....I found that a squirt of silicone spray along the runners helps the mechanism open and close more easily.
