Rochefort Aire - easily forgotten (1 Viewer)

We are currently at the Aire in Rochefort (€8.20 for 24 hours) overlooking the boat yard.

I have to say it's very uninspiring.....

Had a cycle around the town and the Napoleonic Arsenal/Garrison and had an ice cream in the town square. Was woken by the bin men at around midnight, emptying the bins provided for the Aire!! The Aire seems safe enough and no excess noise, so got a decent night's sleep eventually.

All in all, it's one I won't be revisiting, though from previous posts it seems there is a decent veterinary service locally, so might be a useful stopover for some on that basis.

Glad I tried it though, you have to kiss a few frogs ...... (No offence intended to our Gallic friends)

That's a shame we like to he other aire by the Arsenal a little cheaper too. Tuesday and Saturday there is a nice large market.

Did the aire pay machine accept uk cards or was it cash only?

There is one absolute gem in Rochefort that you ought to visit. Inside, it is mind-blowing, and there is nothing else quite like it anywhere.

Not sure but we used our UK credit card easy enough, wish we had looked at the Aire suggested by Chickie We might have had a different opinion ....

We've stayed in a few disappointing places, including one or two which other motorhomers have raved about, but at least you can move on the next day.
