Looking to get a large scale road atlas for Spain. Although our sat nav is fine my navigator refuses to travel without a "proper map" We have a great one for France, AA easy read 2.8m to 1 inch ( 1: 180000) but I have not found equal for Spain.
Thanks
Bernie

We're on the lookout for one too - but not for navigation.

We met a couple on this trip who used the atlas to record interesting places they had visited. They used the little round stickers you can get from stationers to mark the place of interest. On the sticker they wrote a number which was used to reference what they wrote in a notebook about that place.

The notebook thus became a record of their trips.

Unfortunately I didn't make a note of what atlas they were using!

The AA, Vicarious books and even Michelin, Collins and Phillips offer one :)

We actually prefer Collins offerings normally

cepsa mapa max spain and portugal, buy on amazon ...is a good one . i have been using it for a few years now . good for showing coast roads and other smaller roads many atlas,s dont show . far better than a michelin . and cheaper .
would be nice to have ordanance survey style but would need a trailer to carry them all.
looks like amazon havent got any . must be waiting for a new version . better look after mine .

Another vote for the Cepsa map as per VWAlan above. I picked one up at the next Cepsa station after he recommended it to me and was very impressed with the data available on it. It's not the best quality paper but not expensive either so will replace it after a few years. I've got the Michelin and AA maps but not as useful as the Cepsa

Make your own - it's easy enough.

Draw a square, then in the centre draw a spider with evenly-spaced legs stretching in straight lines to the edges of the square.

The spider's body is Madrid.

That's it.
