Hi, My motorhome fridge freezer has stopped cooling, it was working two weeks ago while we were away. It stopped last week on our last trip even when in EHU and on level ground. It has never worked while on EHU on our drive because it’s steep but has always cooled on battery when driving and on EHU while on site. I’ve never used the gas to cool the fridge but the gas does light up some in confident this works. The metal cooling until is warn to touch when on gas or EHU. I have taken the fridge out snd turned it upside down then reinstalled everything but I still have no cooling. There is power to the unit and I believe that all the wiring from the power to the fridge are working. Can anyone help, I’m relatively good at diy so willing to give anything a chance.

We had the same problem with our Fridge Freezer when we brought the van home brand new and parked it on our sloping drive. I put the FF on the day before going away to cool down, drove over 100 miles to the event, and it was still over 8C inside the fridge. I left it running on gas as we had no ehu hook up at the event, it would ignite on gas, run a few seconds then turn off.
As the van was new, I took it back to the dealers, The Dometic engineer apparently spent a couple of hours in the van checking everything, and diagnosed that the cooling unit was faulty due to a probable leak, so he ordered a new replacement from Dometic at considerable cost, however it was under warranty. (y)
He returned to the dealership a week later with the new cooling assembly, prepared to rip out the whole FF to fit it, as they split in half front to back, which would be a long delicate job so as to not damage the internals to the van.
To his great surprise, and mine, he discovered the vans FF was fully working, the Freezer was down to minus 18/20C and the Fridge was down to 1C.(y) It then became obvious to me, that it took that length of time being parked up on the flat surface, plugged into the mains for the cooling liquid to fall down to the bottom of the cooling coil, and start to cycle/flow round as it should.
I built some heavy duty railway sleeper ramps on the drive at home, to get the van near level, and I fingers crossed have not had the problem again.
Some people will say that storing the van off level is OK, but not IMHO if its well over 5/7 degrees for an length of time, turned off & stored.

Try levelling your van on the drive by ramping it up near level, run the FF on mains, leave it for a week to get the cooling fluid moving again, and see what happens.
Good Luck. keep us posted.(y)

I had an experience that might be relevant. When parked for a overnight on a friend's very sloping driveway, the fridge stopped working on both mains and gas. We put it on some big levelling ramps to make it level, but the fridge didn't work even when left for a whole day. We switched off the fridge completely, left it overnight, then drove home (over 100 miles). At home on the level driveway, the fridge started working normally, and now works fine on mains, gas and 12V.

if the chimney is warm/hot and no cooling, have you smelt ammonia in or around the van in the preceding few days?
