Hi All,

We are currently in Harrogate for the week and today we took a walk from the rally where we are; (Bilton Village with Yorkshire DA C&CC) to Ripley and it's castle, the home of Sir Thomas Ingleby.

We were surprised and delighted to discover that the car parking at this stately pile was not only generous in dimension, but it was also free to park.

When we got to the Castle itself, it got even better as we discovered that entrance to the grounds and walks around the impressive parkland was free. (Dog friendly)

This will apparently remain free "for the forseeable future," during the midweek period. As today is Friday I can only assume weekday means Monday to Friday.

Is it a grass car park or are there hard-standing areas that could be used for a motorhome if it was very wet ?

Thanks

They've just tarmaced the road in the car park so it's suitable for MoHos we park up there regularly on the way up north, our van is 7.5m, the village shop have the nicest sausage rolls we have found so far.

There is grass parking areas but we pull at side on tarmaced bit and there is enough space for others to get by.
