I'm an oldbie MH number 10
Many funsters will remember that when fun started I had no dogs. In fact it was only meeting a Newfoundland at a fun meet that got my kids begging for a dog. I ran a poll on fun as to whether I should get a dog and it was a resounding yes. Later that month we were joined by Tara the Newfoundland who very soon became a "fun" mascot with her own badge...

FFW 11 years and today aged 12 I had to take her on her final journey. She has traveled all over Europe with us protecting us and even on one occasion joining me in chasing some youths that tried to break in to our van. So it was fitting that due to her immobility that the only way I could get her to the vets was in our Motorhome.

Sat in the clinic room we began explaining that for the past 48 hours she had been unable to stand and had progressively got worse and worse despite the pain killers she was on. She had been becoming more and more uncomfortable over the past weeks short months. So it was with regret and the love of the most wonderful vet that we acted in what we believe was her best interests. I can not express the pain Nikki and I feel right now in any form of anything I can understand.

RIP Tara Bear.... and if you have a dog cat or any other animal... squeeze it tight tonight, we all know that your day like mine today will eventually come so make the most of your precious time.

i Can remember you asking us lot whether
to or not bring a dog into your life

the memories will last but the pain will subdue

So sorry to hear this Paul and Nikki. Remember the love you gave her, the joy she gave you, and the fun you can still have, in her memory with Betty Bear.

Lots of love from two of many, who have trodden this very sad path xxx

So sorry to hear this, I know the pain, it's the worst part of having an animal. We lost Tui last year and I'm still not over it, but it does get better.

Although her arrival in your life was before we joined MF we feel your pain & sadness.
She really was beautiful & all you can do to help heal is remember all the wonderful times you had together.
They never truly leave you, they live in our hearts & memories.
Rest in peace beautiful Tara Bear.

There are no words to help right now Paul and Nikki, you will find peace in the thought Tara didn’t suffer at the end, you all knew the time was right

I also remember the fix it meet, first time we met you all, I have a vivid memory of you being pulled off your chair and hanging in to Tara laid flat out on the grass

Tara maybe only wanted to say ‘hello’ although we both doubt that ? I like to think they will now meet up and be best of friends in their new lives ?

the memories you all have will help the sadness move on, just maybe not for a while

Bjg dogs leave big holes in the lives they leave behind

RIP Tara

love to you all D & B xx
