Rimor Sailer 645 2.7 TC fixed rear bed on Mercedes chassis and engine.
Despite being hooked up at home, my battery has gone flat and the digitsl display panel is malfunctioning and I can't select 'external suply' to get the domestic electricity feed to be routed to the battieries. So now the main battery is flat despite being hooked up at home for 48 hours.

Having consulted the Haynes Manual for my model of Sprinter the Romor Sailer 645 is built on, (316 2.7 litre) it states 'Open the bonnet' - but not how.

Online videos are for mercedes cars - nothing found for the 316 rhd chassis.

Are there any other Sailer owners members and could anyone please advise where the bonnet release catch is in the cockpit please?

Thanks.

Dux is right, on side wall in left hand side footwell

Can be a two man job though, one to pull the lever the other to fiddle with the bonnet, or is that just on mine o_O

edit - and so is the battery, if you are only going under bonnet to look for that, it is under the floor in the middle of the seats (y)

But there should be a red jumper post somewhere under the bonnet for jump starting or hooking up a charger.
Serious and unforgivable oversight on Mercs part if there isn't.

definitely there, I so well recall having a flat battery on the Eurotunnel at arrival in France, they have a recovery vehicle that drove the full length of the train to get to us, I had opened bonnet looking for battery and was puzzled when they arrived and pushed back 2 mushrooms to reveal the poles. Started and moving within 5 minutes of finding we couldn't start. Didn't dare stop for about 100 miles though, this was our first trip to France in a motorhome o_O

As said lhs under dash, my a/trail (2002) battery IS in the engine compartment passenger side.
