Ridiculously late, but never did this 9,999 posts ago (1 Viewer)

Hello all

I have used and abused this forum for over 5 years now, joining the day we picked up our current Hymer, which was our second motorhome, it seemed that everything that could go wrong had or did in the first few days of ownership, as some of you may recall from around that time

In my first few days I had my membership fee back so many times over that I quickly took up a multi year option a few months later while at our first ever rally in Chester, a mean streak in me has stopped my joining the life membership club

Since my first week in where I thought my world had imploded, the faults quickly got resolved, to be quickly replaced by many more then more and more

But we now have learnt loads, spent loads and had loads of trips away in what I felt was an unusable pile of junk in those early hours

For those that don't know us, we are David and Beverley, this is us doing what we do quite a lot of

this is the Hymer that I thought was going to break me

and this is Lola who is the most loved non person in our family

thanks for the past few years and enduring my 9,999 previous posts, it seemed appropriate to really join for my 10,000th post

Hello all

Lightweight! Just done 12,000 - but I am currently on the naughty step for an outburst over editorial policy and as Jim runs the show guess who lost? But 11,999 reasonable posts isn't too bad.

But MHF is indeed a great resource and we've met more Funsters on this trip than on any other. The community is growing.

I was going to start a retirement thread for my 10,000th, then recalled my omission on the introductions so opted for this

But for those not active on the morning thread, today was also my first day of retirement (sort of)

'Sort of' because I am working out a 40 day hand over, post sale of my business today

just realised my photo of 'us' must have been early last year, actually I think Shrewsbury just before the Norway trip, where I decided to go Norse and try a beard

Not shaved the pointy bit (well quite roundy more than pointy in my case ) since then

not sure quite where the dates come from but according to my avatar I joined in Feb 13, which definitely ties in with the MH purchase, although 5 1/2 years ownership has flown

but you joined in Dec 13, 10 months after, seems to me you are out posting me pro rata actually on that basis it is pretty much a draw
