Bought an XL a couple of weeks ago and so far have just tried it out with toasted sandwiches, I learnt the first time why the instructions say to keep the heat to low as one side of mine was somewhat black looking!

Did bagels for breakfast when we got it ... before I went low carb ?. Not used since so interested in other ideas. There’s quite a few ideas on fishing forums and YouTube channels.

Edited ... we also have used it to warm pancakes, blinis and tiny tielles setois (spiced octopus pies).

Have been looking at these for ages and thinking of asking for one for my christmas to put in the Doblo, want one with removable handles, not using a screwdriver as suggested by one salesman, gee yes that would be so handy.
So anyone got one with detachable handles and would it be big enough to dook for two?
only got a single burner in dobbie and this sounds pretty veratile.

We cook a lot in ours, fish fingers for a sandwich are good. We also have a large version, cooked two chicken legs with bacon and cheese last night, superb. Full English, roast vegetables, bread rolls, will not bother with a fitted oven in our next van

We prefer the diablo as wet ingredients like eggs or beans are sealed inside like a bread pie. My son likes the ridge monkey for toasted tuna sandwiches

Hello, the ridge monkey and the xl both have removeable handles ...

As Grianan says, the handles come off, they store inside the ridge monkey along with 3 utensils. The whole thing then goes into its own bag. I had a look at the others but some don't have detachable handles and as we're tight on kitchen storage then they wouldn't have worked for us.

Everything! There are some great YouTube recipes online.
Time for a bit of youtube browsing then.

I see they have a new pan now, Ridgemonkey - Connect Multipurpose Pan and Griddle Set

I know how to link the web address, but how do I link it to show what it is? As in Janine's post above?

They cook fried eggs, perfectly, and very quickly. I like using mine because, unlike when using a frying pan, it helps to prevent the van from getting greasy.

I think that one is older stock as it doesn't have the detachable handles which the current ones have.

Minimal, but learning fast.
We use ours almost daily. In fact we have one indoors too now because we use it so much. Sausages, fish fingers, full english, 3 egg omelettes, even chocolate brownies, all very good. We don't have an oven in the van, just 2 gas rings, and we cope perfectly well because of the ridge monkey. Definitely get the newer one with detachable handles, as it also comes with tools that fit inside when not in use.

We only have 2 gas rings as well as a small portable oven which takes twice the cooking time but works fine.

We have both, I wished the larger one came in the type of neoprene case as the smaller one rather than just for the handles.
