At risk of repeating info I put on here six months ago, and with the weather turning cooler, thought it might be worth a reminder for anybody who didn't see it and has the same issue with the automatic.

I've got a 2016 right-hand-drive Ducato van conversion with the comfortmatic gearbox. And I couldn't get my feet warm when driving. Previous van - a Ducato X250 with manual gearbox - no problem - lovely toasty warm feet. And in the new van it's fine on the passenger side.

Anyway, I finally got to the bottom of the cause and sorted it out by removing the driver's left-foot rest, which goes where the clutch would be on the manual van. The foot rest deflects the heating up under the dash - doh!

I'm keeping that. It'll be handy even if I never use it.
Thanks to the OP for this top tip(y)

I've just taken the foot rest out of my MH to do this mod as my left foot pinkies were getting cold too. Right foot was ok.

The heating vent is quite a way up inside the dash (circled in red) so not much chance for the left foot.
Prepping the foot rest for surgery next.

@mikebeaches were you able to remove the footrest without removing anything else?
I had a quick look at mine earlier but was struggling to see how it comes out.
Thanks

Yes - although I didn't do it myself, I watched as the Fiat technician removed the footrest. I don't believe anything else had to be removed.

Others on here that have done it themselves may be able to comment further.

The foot rest is held in 4 places but these fixings are hidden by 2 other plastic mouldings.
The lower floor moulding is removed completely and the panel is just loosened enough to gain access to the top foot rest bolts.
The left side of the panel under the steering wheel is on 'press studs' and can be pulled off it's left mounting. The right side of this panel is screwed in.
I think there were a couple of other screws that needed taking out, but it should be apparent which ones they are when you get in to it.
The awkward bit is bending and fitting in to the space available to see what's where !!

The 2 vents were from Ebay £4.95 per pair.
Search for " 2 X Round Short Tail Vent 75mm Floor BLACK Caravan Motorhome Camper Gas "
The rest can be easily drilled with a suitable sized hole saw.

A great post and explanation Astro, together with good pics to illustrate.

It looks a really professional job you've done. (y)

Since April 1846 but have always camped.
Thanks for the repost. I’ve just driven back from the IH factory with the heater on my feet and my body was nice and warm but my little legs were freezing . Must sort it now. Even in the south of France in summer I would drive with long trousers and socks on!
