I noticed today my reversing light seems to be on continuously, I presume it's a sticking switch ?
Does anyone know where abouts it might be located ?
2003 2.8 JTD
Thanks

As far as I recall, the switch is on top of the gearbox and can be reached (just) from the top of the engine bay. My first van had a similar problem

Did you need to fit a new switch or was it repairable. I was hoping a squirt of WD40 might cure it but that`s probably a bit to much to hope for.
Also, did you access it through the letterbox opening of an A Class ?
I might just take the bulb out if it`s going to be a pain in the a$$
I don`t think it`s a MOT failure item
I might ask on the fiat forum if anyone knows for sure where it is.

No, it was a coach built and from what I recall the switch was replaced. The Fiat forum will give you exactly the answers that you need.

Ours has packed up in the 'Off' position.
I have one to replace it and, because it isn't a fail on the MOT I have it in mind to replace it, (if my garage can employ an orangutan to get the wrench on it)

According to fiat forum the switch is next to the gearbox breather and I know where that is after changing the GB oil earlier in the year.
But I`ll probably leave it until I next change the air filter. Bulb out for now.
Thanks for info

As far as I recall, you need a deep socket to undo it........ a normal one fouls with the contacts on top and won’t grip

Strangely, I checked again this morning before removing the bulb and guess what, no light permanently on. All good.
It had been parked up for three weeks and left in gear, reverse gear.
Must remember to use first gear :xsmile:
Seems like it didn't like having reverse permanently selected.
