- I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
So!! - here we go yet again!!
I have just received the V5C for my new to me Hymer ML-I 580 after having it uprated from 3500 to 4000kg. the new chassis plate shows 4000kg and the V5C shows 4000kg revenue weight however further down the V5C it shows the Max permissible mass unchanged at 3500kg!!
I telephoned DVLA and spoke to a person who deals with V5C's and she told me that if I want to make any amendment then I have to send V5C off to them and they will investigate if it is possible to do so!
I explained that I just wanted to know if with a revenue weight of 4000kg that was now the legal weight limit of my vehicle and guess what - she was not sure as it depends upon the vehicle!!!!!!
Can anyone enlighten me or has anyone else had the same problem - if so please tell me what (if anything) you did to resolve the matter - I am tempted just to leave things as they are and fight the case if stopped & charged
