Hi, Understand there is a scheme in the States, whereby you can return RV's to their original hire location. You pay insurance and fuel, but the hire is free.
Does anyone have a web site address. etc

Someone over on Fun's sister site, RVOC, did exactly that a few years ago....except it was brand new, delivery from the Chicago factory to an LA dealer.
I don't think it was free though, but heavily discounted rental and around 3 weeks allowed for the trip and it's up to you which route you take.
Worth a punt.

We haven't returned existing ones but have delivered new ones .
Every spring Cruise America offer special one way rates to deliver new RVs from Chicago across the US and Cruise Canada from Toronto across Canada.
You get yourself there, you pay a cheaper hire rate with all insurances and extras thrown in and are given deadlines depending on destination.
Our last one in 2012 we collected a new 30ft RV from Chicago for delivery to Las Vegas, we took a month and 3000 miles via St Louis, Memphis, Tulsa, Amarillo, Oklahoma, Alberquerque taking in much of R66 then to Grand Canyon , Monument, Bryce etc .
Incredible .
If you contact www.cruiseamerica.co.uk who are agents over here , they will email the list in the spring. The website does not normally list the delivery trips.

PS it may have been us PJ ;)
