Anyone any good with electrics?

I have started to convert the sockets above the sink in our 2004 Autotrail Cheyenne 696. I'm trying to get rid of the clipsal sockets and switches and replace them with modern looking CBE ones.

I had the following clipsal fittings:
240 wall socket
Main interior lights dimmer switch
Switch to control light above sink
12v double slotted socket / coaxial socket - not even sure what this socket was for?

So, I've replaced them with CBE sockets:
240v CBE wall socket
12v CBE switch for light above sink
USB CBE socket instead of the 12v/coaxial socket.

With no issues.

However, the CBE dimmer switch is clearly built for a 12v supply (the wire input holes are small for a start). The problem is the main interior lights are on the 240v supply. The wires certainly look thicker (same as the 240v socket)

So my question is:
Will the CBE dimmer switch handle the 240v supply safely?
If not, does anyone know if there is a CBE dimmer for 240v supply available?
If not, does anyone have any ideas?

Converted a Fiat Ducato PV a while back
I doubt very much... add 240V AC would probably equal BOOM! CBE has a website just google it, and download the brochure It should give you the specs in there.

Why would your main lights be 240v? seems odd to me.

The double slotted socket would be for a TV power 12v and coaxial antenna 75ohm combo in all probability

Hi Gaza,

Thanks for the reply. I'm with you, I recon it would be asking for trouble.

My only hope is that the lights aren't on the 240v circuit. I'll wire back up (put the clipsal back in) and test it.

So apparently Magnum Motorhomes have a stock of 240v CBE dimmer switches specifically for this application! The two main lights at the end of the cupboards are on the 240v mains supply. The rest of the lights are on the 12v supply.

Hope that helps anyone reading this.

Received the new dimmer switch this morning. Fitted and works a treat.
