The tubular metal arms are badly corroded. The brackets on the van body are quite big. How can we put them right? It says RBE on the outside of the mirrors, is this company still I existence, if so, what is their contact info?

Don`t look like any I have seen What years `van?. I would venture to say "google" is your friend?. Have you tried (say) RBE Mirrors?. Just tried it, got a full page of "hits". So you could get lucky, they seem to be Truck / Bus mirrors.

Another one to try:-

I've searched hits but none have similar, I can't find the Rbe company site. It's a 2000 van. Great condition apart from these awful mirrors

Have you tried a hgv spares company, it might be a common item adapted

Checked them, nothing similar

Just a suggestion, could you get a local company to refurbish these mirrors.
Some of these companies can achieve remarkable results.

This ^^^^^^
Powder coated or two part epoxy and they will last years and look good for a lot less money that replacements I would imagine.

That's a good idea.thanks. We're just afraid to remove the tape in case they fall off!

We’ve got tube arms on our Hymer mirrors,( not the taped bit though:)) I took the mirror head off and painted them in position.

Nice one be interesting to see what prices they come in at.

Cracked the mirror glass in our big Arcol mirror, need a whole mirror assembly said dealer at about £800 :Eeek:
genuine mirror glass from Carlyle £60 (y)

That’s brilliant, not the crack but the replacement cost.

I know someone with an A class Rapido had to claim on their insurance for a complete assembly.

I’m sure it was nearly 2k or may have been more ?

I've found one v similar in Carlyle catalogue, have asked for more details.
Phew, hope it's okay

Hi Suey10,

How did you get on with your mirrors? I am in a similar situation for a 2001 model 270, except mine are white.

Think the OP may have run out of posts as a free member.

I have emailed Carlysle Coach and Bus Ltd looking for the plastic fairings that are missing on my van. In the meantime I have removed the mirror arms to repaint if possible. Had fun dismantling the heat and motor plugs then feeding wires out of the arms. Should be even more fun running them back through.
