Can anyone recommend someone to repair the front fibreglass panels on our fleetwood fiesta?

The ins co has asked us to research the repair and we need to contact someone with experience of working with fiberglass panels on an RV. We are in Liverpool and would much rather use someone recommended to us than just pick at random from the yellow pages!!! This is our baby after all(-and the insurance is paying)so we want the best possible job doing:RollEyes:.

many thanks

Might be worth speaking to your local council vehicle fleet manager they may know someone locally who is good and reasonably priced. Really wish I could help further but glad no one was hurt. xxxx

Kim,

A good source of information for all things RV is Duncan from Star Spangled Spanner. Did you meet him in Stratford? He had a stand and camped with us on the field you must have noticed him dashing from one RV to the other fixing and advising! Send him a pm.

He is the guy that sells/fixes all things RV although I don't think he does body repairs/paint jobs himself, he may well know who the best person for the job is.

Also you could ask Roadrunner, he has been getting quotes for body work so may well have some information, I think he mentioned a firm called Motorhome Medics but I don't know anything about them.

Hope you manage to get everything sorted out.

Hi Kim,
We have :)Sad:too far away for us) not used motor home medics but we know people who have and they have all been very pleased with their work, so it would be worth a shot, best using people who have been used by other motorhome members as they have first hand experience. good luck let us know who you go for in the end, and let us know after the job has been done if you would recommend them:Smile:

Why are you doing the insurance companies job for them :Eeek: ?? You pay them your premium, let them sort it out, its not your problem if they have agreed to pay for the repairs. :thumb:

A fair point but, many repairers will do fiber glass but how many actually know what they are doing and there again the same goes for MH/RV specifics too.

If stuck look at specialst sports car types, ie Lotus, TVR and the other one I was always told was boat yards, again ones that specialise in fiber glass boats. As above though you're dealing with people who may not fully understand HM/RV requirments, depends on the actual damage.

Good luck,

Si.

I have had dealing with insurers and windows, let them find a repairer and if not happy hopefully someone on here will refer youm to the best (wont hurt for the insurers to find out how much first anyway, you'll likely to find cheaper and better as back up:winky:)

seem to know what they are doing and are based in leyland just off the m6.
when you talk to them they may seem a little abrasive and course but that's their style,
they tell it like it is.

Thanx 4 the leads so far will be following up on a couple please keep then coming.

It would be good for a list on the forum for others to follow...

I want to make sure that we have a quality repair and as the Insurance company said "it is a specialist vehicle". I am not sure if they know the reputation of repairers and would probably just make a decision on price!
