Has anyone got any experience/info on how to do remove the Remis blinds from the door of a 2013 Ducato? I have to get them off in order to remove and replace my wing mirror which was swiped by a Portuguese lorry driver.

Cheers

I've recently done this on my 2016 Ducato, see here

It's not too difficult, you just have to take it steady

Cheers

Thanks, I looked for pre-existing threads but couldn't find one. Got all the info I need now. Don't have the right star headed screwdriver bits or a trim removing tool, trip to Halfords later.

The replacement mirror doesn't have the cables for the aerial and extra earth. I have fitted it (referring to Trevor's excellent instructions) and all was well. I tested that the mirrors moved and the indicator worked before doing everything up but now the dash is saying that there is a fault with the indicator although they are all working correctly. I will check for a lose connection but it may be a relay or perhaps the system doesn't like the new bulb/wiring.

Bit of a coincidence that it should develop a fault now but perhaps it's unrelated.

I have recently replaced a door mirror and experienced the same problem. It was a pattern part off eBay with an orange bulb. This bulb is the incorrect wattage which causes an error message. I salvaged the original orange lens and used the correct bulb-problem solved.

Aha, I thought it might be that, I have kept the bulb, I'll swap them over. Ho did you get the lens off to swap the bulb?

If you move the main mirror anti-clockwise 2 small screws will be exposed. Alternatively you can prise out the mirror which is far more exciting. You may need an orange lens off eBay (£10) if you haven't got the old one.

The old bulb is larger than the aperture for the bulb in the new assembly so I can't swap them. In any case, the new bulb is coloured orange whereas the old one just had an orange reflector inside the lens. So they are very different. I have contacted EM parts via Ebay and will wait to see what they say. If an original Fiat Ducato indicator lens assembly, including bulb, will fit, I will go down that route.
