The plastic stuff covering the toilet door in the van was bubbling and looked a mess now left with glue its worse than photo shows it’s lumpy and sticky any idea how to remove it too sticky to sand it .

I have a five litre tin of automotive paint thinners (gunwash), and this seems to shift just about anything! Don't try it on single pack paint though...

Possibly best to find something to recover and glue that onto the door. Shower board from diy store/builders merchants may have offcuts.

When trying various solvents use a cotton wool bud on a small area before going full steam ahead :)

If you can't find a solvent could you sand the worst using wire wool?

Would the worst come off using a paint scraper, then you could sand and glue something else on to cover.

I would remove the door completely from its hinges, then use a hot air gun and a scrapper to remove the woodgrain coloured film that has been applied to the door. The film itself is adhesive backed and is stuck to the door using heat I believe.
I dont know where you can find light wood plastic veneer though, so try a search on google maybe.
Good luck.

Is surface porous ? if so there is a danger of any product you use soaking in and prevent any future
decorative product sticking.
so i would concentrate on alcohol based rather than oil based like turpentine etc

Thanks everyone thought we would try WD40 first soaked all the glue and scraped for hours kept wet .it’s not perfect but fairly smooth putting sticky back paper on done rest of van easy only had trouble with that door good old WD40.
