Yes I think warm with a hairdryer /hot air gun.
Or wait until summer.
Then carefully scrape
Not sure of your options of you have no elecy.
Do they do a gas powered hot air gun ?

Try Spraying WD40 around the edges, once it gets underneath you should be able to peel it off, use a plastic flat blade like a car trim removal tool, or even an old credit card.
Good luck, be patient with it.

Really warm water on a flannel/cloth and hold against the decal for a few mins, that may be enough to loosen the adhesive.

Valeters at a dealership use something called ' TAR and GLUE' after the hair drier to remove the residue.

Have removed this type of thing before using a hairdryer but obviously you can’t do that but scrapping off in my opinion is a very big no no.
You say at the moment, if thats the case in the current situation why the rush?

True. I want electric to use my Karcher and snow stuff so may drive my van home (it’s at a storage place at the moment with water but no leccy)...will probably get arrested for non essential travel ?. Is butterfly removal essential....not sure..

Update in case anyone was interested....I used the boiling water method and a plastic bathroom mastic remover to remove butterflies and it works a treat....of course as I suspected they were put on in random places for a reason....covering dents and some corrosion...or perhaps it was just a coincidence.

So the large butterfly hid some small holes in the aluminium skin.....is that corrosion...what sort of corrosion...aluminium doesn’t rust does it...and more importantly is it easily repairable...

the two dents aren’t too much of and issue but again is there some sort of filler I can use to repair them..

Someone on another post said Hymer are very secretive about their paint colours but I have a sticker in the engine bay saying the colour and it’s code...can I get paint made up with that hide ?
Lots of questions I know but but any advice much appreciated...

perhaps I should have paid more and got a newer one?

enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
corrosion is oxidisation - most metals oxidise, though it doesnt always damage the metal. you could always design a new decal to put on both sides so it matches and looks 'original'

you will over a period of time pick up dings and dents. i wouldnt be too precious about an older vehicle having a few, so long as they are not holes where mositure can get through,

we werent too bothered about our first motorhome having a couple of minor blemishes, we could then drive it confidently knowing we were unlikely to do any minor damage that would significantly reduce its value

Thumb nail photo is definitely corrosion and need sorting, the others are probably dents from bikes on the bike rack.
The paint code under the bonnet would be the original fiat body colour not the Hymer colour.
Northernraider aka Gone had some holes to fill in his Hymer back wall (removed bike rack) he filled and then got a big sticker/graphic to cover all of holes in one go.
if the corrosion is on the side fill and have a graphic made to cover and repeat on the other side.

Yes I’m not worried about the dents but the the bottom one has holes...I suppose a bit of ordinary body filler would do. P.38 or something......haven’t used that since I did the chills on my MGB 40 yard ago !
