Please I'm begging you, help!

I have a flickering LED light 12v 1.5watt Dometic 70313-8768.
I have pulled and prodded and feel like ripping the thing out.
How do I extract it?
I have a dethless Trend A class. 66 plate.

Also I have to change the fuse for my trumo heater, a code W45H is flashing. I would love to know the actual size of the fuse?(The type of fuse is T10AH 10amp time related)and is it possible to replace the fuse myself?
I hope the above makes sense,
I will buy you a beer this year when travelling to the sunshine-i promise.
Thank you for your replies.

Re the LED,it looks to me that the inner ring might rotate left or right, against the outer ring, thereby lining up the lugs with the gaps. If that's the case, it should be relative easy to unplug and replace.

Re Timelapse or slow blow fuses, they are usually tiny glass fuses. I'm sure that once you locate the fuse, you should be able to replace it, but it is really important that you replace like for like, and not just any 10A glass fuse that might fit. :whatthe:

If no manual for it, type the Truma model in to Google, and search for "replacing the 10A fuse".

Good luck with both. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

The LED its a case of easing them out they are a push fit with metal tabs that spring out behind the panel a thin flexable blade can help.
If you are handy with a soldering iron you can replace the LED bulb otherwise it's an expensive new unit.

I think the Truma fuse is the one on the heater PCB it's a 20mm fuse.

Hi Jock.
To play it safe I shall take the broken fuse out then buy one that's identical. My initial thought was buy the fuse on ebay.(cheaper)

Reference the LED light; I have tried to turn it both ways with no joy, I have used a thin knife on the outer ring then pushed it in with no joy.
I think I'm being too cautious.

Thank you for taking time to reply. If I'm successful I shall let you know.

Kind regards.
Phil.

Hi Lenny.
My LED is very much the same as the photo attached.
I used a thin knife and pushed it under the outer chrome ring, I twisted the knife in the hope the whole lot would pop out, I shall be more forceful tomorrow!
I have 15 of these lights, the cost of a new one is ringing in at £23.
My soldering is about as good as Liverpool playing football. (useless)

Thank you for replying to my call for help.
If I win this battle you will hear me shouting for joy.
Kind regards
Phil.

Make sure all electric is turned off,in all cases. Check polarity of LED fitting, they don't like being reversed.
Mike
Hi Mike.
That is awesome thank you so much for the links and heads-up reference polarity and not being reversed.

Regards
Phil.

Thats my Carbon Footprint up the creek then ... having to replace the whole unit and bet won't be able to match it with the opposite side, so that means two. Why do they do that, when all you really need is a small LED bulb ..... crazy :wondering:
Thanks Lenny

Thanks - will take a look.
Are they easy to fit myself ... I own a screwdriver or do I need a Sparkie ?

Hi, I have these in my Van. The first time I replaced one of the units I found it particularly difficult and damaged the surrounding area around the fitting because of the leaf - springs on the side that dig in when you pull the unit down. The next one I replaced, I took a different strategy. I prized off first the outer ring using a screwdriver - so that the glass of the unit popped out. I then prized off the small circular board that holds the LEDs on it - it's kind of glued in. These came away fairly easily. When the circuit board is hanging down, behind you will see a circular indent in the middle at the back. This bit goes through to the outer casing and holds the leaf-springs in place. If you take a drill with a suitable bit (though the metal is fairly soft), you can drill this central bit out. It worked like a charm, after a small amount of drilling, the fitting simply dropped out and with the leaf-speing still in place. But that is now trivial to remove and pull out.

Make sure the 12v supply is off. Make sure you only drill a small amout (literaly 3 or 4 mm) and don't rush.

Did you manage to get replacements for your LEDs? If so, where from and how much?
