Not sure if I’m over thinking this!

We have a Remoska which is great, but I’m wondering if anyone uses something to stop the heat from the pan heating up the table/surface it’s sitting on?

It’s on the stand it comes with but the surface underneath it gets quite warm. MH tables aren’t made from Oak and I don’t want to cause any harm to it. As I said, I could be worrying about nothing but thought I’d ask the wisdom of the forum🙂.

Thanks
Mark

I do with my slow cooker at home, if the surface below is getting too hot then it needs insulating I would have thought.

We did pie and roast potatoes today. We’ve used a chopping board under the stand but the table still gets warm. For peace of mind when we’re our next wee k we’ll get a cork board and see how that goes.

As I said I just put a folded tee towel under ours. It doesn't conduct heat. I've read of someone putting plates under her remoska to warm them. I'm going to give that a try next time I'm using ours.

Since childhood!
As I write, I can see a round cork mat sitting unused in my office, and I think it is just about to be moved into the van! Not that I have a Remoska (I think in a VW it would take up far too much room), but it will be useful for other hot items.

We had the Remoska in the Gobur Folding Caravan, sitting on the tiny square of work surface, next to the Toaster; which is how the Toaster got its rictus grin, when I moved the Remoska too close during a fruit loaf toasting sessionon a wet saturday afternoon in Forfar, and burned a mouth shaped gap in the Cool Wall plastic ... :giggle:

I used the dog bed under our Remoska the other week whilst in the van, it burnt a bleeding hole in the dog bed so need to get a board or mat etc under it.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
We use a plywood board which I fitted two 1" batterns underneath so has an air gap, the worktop stays cool, we also put our plates underneath to warm up.

We use the plastic trivet that came with the Remoska, and sit it on a cheap Bamboo placemat. Works OK, but we [i.e. Elaine] don't cook roasts etc.

We use ours on a plastic table, without putting anything under it, and have
never had a problem. 🤷‍♂️

I use a wooden chopping board, find plates heat up much better if you sit the rack on top of the remoska and put the plates on that..
