Gee, I didnt quite realise the cost involved in a set of pull curtains and a few bits of plastic.

I m looking at £800 for the 3 blinds to cover the front of a new Transit. I ve tried Amazon, google, ebay and even the German Amazon site in case it was UK rip off.

Are there alternative products that do the same thing or a way I can save myself working 3 extra nights to keep the Mrs happy ?

We looked at the cost of those and decided to stick with the suction cup and save a bottle of wine a night. As it happens we've now managed to acquire a badly cracked screen so if we had fiitted the remis would probably have had to get them off again to get a replacement fitted.
When you say working 3 extra nights to keep the Mrs happy do you mean to pay for the blinds or just she's happier when you're at work!

You have a cracking new van there, it would be a shame to skimp on the blinds, if you keep this one 5 years you will have had your moneys worth out of them👍 Make the missus happy, pony up for the blinds

Cheapskate, fit a decent insulated electric aluminium blind for the front screen, far superior. :xrofl:

What has it got at the moment?

I wish there were a viable alternative. Yes they work, yes they are overpriced, yes they have to be handled with utmost care and getting replacement parts is yet another minefield. I need one drivers side screen (damaged hinge) but I have to buy two, they will not supply one for a Renault Master. Would I still buy them, yes!

Its so hard to change the habits of a lifetime ! (by that i mean failing to keep the Mrs happy) ;)

Can i suggest the German Amazon site rather than the English one for spare parts. FiL sourced spares from there and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, unfortunately the blinds in total are only a bit cheaper from there

Hi. I posted a similar question yesterday, but regarding cab blinds for a Ducato.

In addition to Remis, Domestic also make them. Although they appear superficially similar, they operate entirely differently - for example Remis front blinds close horizontally like two curtains, whilst Dometic ones pull up vertically from the bottom as a single unit.

Price wise fairly similar - as suavecarve says, ruddy expensive!

Any comments on either make would be appreciated - ease of use, durability, spares availability, etc.

The remis cab blinds are OK and quite handy. They are not that good that I would retro fit them though.

Check if you need a blanking piece that covers the gap between the windscreen blind and dashboard which lets light in (or out). Transits might be different but many Fiats etc. are missing this Remis piece because some converters omit to fit it.

Its worth ringing O Leary because his website is rubbish and only shows about 1% of the stuff he has. He has at least 3 warehouses full of stuff and I don't think even he knows what he's got.

If you have a 690 it's not a custom, it's a mk8 from 2014 -'19 or a mk8 facelift after 2019.
