hi. I'm thinking of retrofitting these to my rollerteam motorhome. Seems they are about £500 for the front and sides. Anyone fitted them and are they easy?

Would you fit them at £500?
I saw someone mention they got some cheaper but can't find it now
Anyone know a cheaper place to buy them from?

Gary

Instruction book is straight forwards if you are handy.

I've fitted a few to Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen vans. Would I pay £500 to fit them to mine? Not a chance, I prefer a £100-£150 for an external silver screen/Taylormade cover.

D.

Most of the year you don't need silver screens and the blinds are far more convenient and much quicker. I paid £475 and worth every penny IMHO

I have external thermal covers and stick on internal ones too. As Techno says these seem much better and more convenient for summer use. Especially on aires etc.
Do you loose much visual area on the windscreen ?
Shame they aren't cheaper but I guess I'll be keeping van for a while

Ps @Techno100 I was trying to find your post about your upgrade of the blinds. do you have a link at all please ?

Remis blinds for summer; Silver Screen for winter. What could be easier? Mind you, the Remis blinds were on my van when I bought it and I would not have thought of fitting them. They do buzz and rattle a bit and need supplementary fastening with strip velcro to make them almost quiet.

fitting is as easy as pie i bought them for our van and delayed putting them on till the very last worrying about messing up an almost 500 pound item. When I finally tackled the job it was less than two hours work deciphering the instructions took the longest and a bit heart stopping as you have to break the old pillar covers to get them out. This is on a ducato but cant see it being much different on a transit if you get a chance to inspect some that are already fitted it would probably help and grab some pictures if you can

No you don't lose any vision at all with the latest type. Not sure I posted the blinds here? but I've never illustrated fitting them. I may have posted about updating my side blinds from the old fan style.
Re above I don't have any rattles, the MKII type can if not fitted correctly.

would i fit them again probably yes as a self build they add a bit of finish rather than having curtains. silver screens need to be stored when not in use and the blinds are quicker to pull when you want to change in the van during the day
they dont replace silver screens in the winter as their insulating properties are not great

The type that has the side window split in two do rattle as the fixings for the rods work loose. Easily fixed after removal. The latest single side blind has no guide rods at all thus eliminating rattle.

I purchased an fit the same to our Boxer, purchased off eBay seller for a tad over £400, pretty easy to fit an by far one of the best things i have bought for the van ;)

Not sure you can get them yet for the new Transit? I was told that Chausson weren't fitting them as standard to Fords as they weren't available.

It's not the brand new transit. It's the one before. Mk7 is it I'm rubbish at vans ? Last of the 2014 old type transits I think

2007 onwards
I can't find them for £500 so you did well

Looking on the remis sight I see this . Now I'm confused as my roller team is a 2014 model so which one is it I need as I thought it was just 2007 onwards ? Is it remi III or IV I need

IV
I retro fitted IV on my 2008 as they are better than III
Mine is Ducato but the same improvements apply

@Techno100 what's the difference between mk3 and mk4 ? I'm not sure my roller team 695 is a transit Custom is it ? I don't want to make a 580 quid mistake

Anyone know the cheapest place for these I'm looking at buying this week

On mine it is improved side blinds being a one piece draw rather than two separate pleats and better visibility of rear view mirrors.
I'd advise phoning a supplier, I know nothing of Transits

I asked remis and they said ask roller team too. Guess I'll email them. Maybe also email my local transit garage with my vin number and ask them. Thanks

Right just in case anyone's interested , had a reply from roller team who, contacted remis. The new ford transits ie the American looking one the remis mk4 blinds will not fit a rhd vehicle .

For anyone with an older looking 2014 transit like mine apparently we need mk3 remis blinds. I'll be looking for a good price now and then I'll attempt to fit them.

I'm looking forward to your report of fitting and using them. They are on my "maybe" list.

I'll be sure to write an account when I get them. Hopefully they are easy to fit. Think I'll find out soon

I've just bought some for my 2013 ducato and they don't fit properly. Maybe Im being picky but would love to hear other peoples experiences.

Im talking the front windscreen blinds REMIfront. I have 2 problems:
(1) They leave a small gap at the bottom of the A pillars between the pillar and the dashboard. The original A pillar covers have a angled cover to bridge the gap with the dash, the Remis don't.
(2) They are higher than the original A pillar covers which means I have to cut some of the roof lining down to get them to snap into the catches
Also (3) the packaging and contents includes sticky back foam but the instructions don't mention them one bit.

Bit loathe to start cutting my van when I might return them.

Checked the packaging and they are the right ones for my van.

Has anyone got these fitted to a 2007 to 2014 van. Do they gaps? Did they require trimming or padding before correct fitment?

Thanks anyone,

Graham

So mine arrived yesterday and so far I've fitted the side door blinds. Very easy to fit, just 6 self taping screws but you need a Torx bit for your screwdriver to use the supplied screws.

First impression ? Well first of all I pushed them right up to the doorframe then screwed them on which may have been a mistake as the small bit of the two part blind is a bit stiff to get into its recess now when opening. I'll have to sort that out. To be honest for the money and mines a transit kit so remis blind 3 with the two part side window blinds I'm a little disappointed as to the feel of closing the small side blinds. Side blinds very easy to fit.

I'm on site at the moment waiting for the rain to stop before I tackle the front windows . I'll let you know how it goes.
