Hi,

I'm not sure the Fiat 2.5 TD, if that is the engine that you have, can be remapped or have a smartbox fitted as if i am correct the 2.5 TD Ducato was/is a normal type diesel i.e. has a mechanical pump and mechanical injectors as against the Fiat JTD engine which has electronic injectors and pump which are controlled by a ECU.

To remap or fit a smartbox etc the engine needs to be electronically controlled as it is the electronics that are altered in remapping or the fitting of a smartbox

Hope that makes sense

Braunston is absolutely correct, the 2.5 diesel lump is of the traditional type with a mechanical injector pump and therefore cannot be remapped. The best you could hope for is to have the pump timing and fuelling optimised by a diesel specialist and possibly having an intercooler fitted if there isn't already one on the van.

D.

In edit: I just re-read your original post and notice that you don't day it is a turbo unit anyway, if it hasn't already got a turbo then the addition of one will make a huge difference.
