Tomorrow will see my lovely niece (and God daughter) Manon 21y, fly to the beautiful country of Ireland.

She will be in Dublin tomorrow and Saturday nights in an "Auberge". Then in Cork on Sunday(coachsurfing) and from Monday to the 11th of July in Casteltownbere in a family . They call it "woofing".
Then she 'll be roaming a bit with her rucksack from the 12th to the 19th . Then Galway on the 19th and 20th and back to France on the 21st.
I'm sure she'll be fine, but if anything goes wrong somewhere, I'd like to know if I can ask for some help on here.

Here's a pic of Manon when we went to London together

Not too many members in the Irish Republic, but I am sure we can help somehow if needed (y)

You know how it works, once you have everything covered you don't need to call for it

Another of these Sods law or more likely in this case Murphy's law :)

never heard of woofing, almost daren't even look it up :D

Thank you! It's the second time Manon goes that far away from home and the second time she takes the plane First time being with me, so I guess we're all a bit anxious, but that's the way it goes... you just have to let them fly out of the nest!

Hello Frankie

We have family in Ireland, just below the border around Cavan, in fact 3 sets of family members plus another north of Cork but he has just broken his leg so is out of action for a while. The 3 families near Cavan are all lovely and most of them very capable too, so if Manon needs a hand, advice or a drinking partner and is in the north just let us know.

My sister in law lives in a community that supports itself and has WWOOFers popping now and then. They are based just outside Wilmslow in Buckinghamshire (not Ireland so useless), but everyone we have met there and that has been helping out have been really friendly and welcoming. Think it is a fantastic way of travelling cheaply and safely, getting involved and learning. Good on her.
