Reich Gas Point (1 Viewer)

I have a Reich external gas point on my van.
When I try to connect the male fitting from my BBQ it will not locate.
Can anyone give me tips how to solve problem, as I am in Spain and struggling without my BBQ.

Assuming it has worked before and isnt a first use......Have a look inside the 'socket' and see if the rubber seal has dislodged.

if its OK then a little spit on the male part may help...the seal may be a little sticky.
