Just looking
Hi all

My motorhome has 2 yellow gaslow bottles that i need to refill - i have checked the autogas app and a few others for the South of england and nearly everywhere is out of stock. Having a nightmare and wondering if I should convert back to normal bottles which i can get anywhere?

Try the fill LPG app. And as indicated by The Coops have a look at Morrisons.

PS Bone disease precludes me from humping heavy bottles - so gaslow for me. I was diagnosed with it when quite young, and it was my father that spotted it first. "You" he said in his best flight sergeant's voice - "have bone disease boy - you're bone idle"

Good luck with the hunt (y)

Morrisons but as long as they are fixed in the van with an external filling point, Morrisons will not allow Gaslow and other makes to be filled as single bottles on there own, only Safefill.

Ask where your local taxi cabs fill up with LPG. Morrisons usually have an LPG pump on the forecourt

I have noticed a couple of local taxi places have installed their own tanks now and offer filling to others. (y)
Unfortunatly in the Midlands so no good to the OP.

If you advise exactly where you are someone may be able to advise where your nearest LPG is

Have you checked the Morrisons at Boroughbridge on the A1..,not sure if that's north for you,it's showing as having log late Feb. And there is a Texaco showing as having log just northeast in Keighly

Looking at the options myself, most have a red cross and no gas available for our route down A1 to Peterborough 🤔 but we still have one full cylinder so no panic yet

Did spot this cheeky site though 😳

Thanks Jim
We’re going up M6 way that nozzle at the Texaco garage was broken last time we tried to get some there and we got charged for the bit we couldn’t get in tank but will ring them and see if it’s been fixed and if they have some if not will have to try at Kirby Lonsdale but that’s usually the 1st to run out

The auto gas app is not up to date showing 2 stations near us with gas but both empty so I wonder how often it’s updated

All the apps seem to rely on users updating the info as they go... best to check the other apps too.
Yes I realised that when I looked into it further I must admit I do like this auto gas app better than the fill lpg one easier to navigate and get phone numbers from

Where? I'm in the South of England but it's a big area.
These are my nearest LPG garages but they're a bit hit 'n miss with stock.
Patcham BP station, junction of A23 and A27
Pease Pottage at A23 Services near Crawley.

Don't count on it. Exchange bottles have been in short supply throughout the pandemic.

Hi try the "autogas app" it shows stations with lpg, and phone numbers of stations so you can check, just tap any with a price, stations marked with an x are out of stock

Good luck trying to get a 13Kg bottle. None available at calor or flogas... I needed to buy a second and even the main depot couldn't supply

There is a shortage of propane and Calor is giving priority to domestic customers. Probably the same with other suppliers. Situation may improve for leisure users with warmer weather, when the home heating demand reduces.

As a back up we have stocked up with the small gas canisters that fit the table top single burner camp stoves,.they sell at 4 for £3.99.( if you shop around...eg Home Bargains)
Each canister has approx half litre,so at £2 per litre it's almost cheaper than an exchange bottle of calor. (y)

The usual places on the way up the A1 were all "out of service" last week. Great place in Edinburgh just off the bye pass at Leith end if that is any help. He was charging 88p/L last week when I spoke with him.

Good luck with finding normal bottles as you say , Calor haven’t been able to supply any new contracts for a year or more !
Massive shortage of bottles still .
We understand that LPG suppliers are looking after their domestic heating customers and industry.
No shortage of LPG itself but the logistics seems to be another issue.

We have LPG stock here at Thirsk but the price has changed twice this week already ⚠️

Bourne usually have it - I can check for you
Or Flogas in Peterborough itself. I think JockandRita use that one

Thanks, confirmed we have a full bottle 👍

Plus the Shell garage northbound on A1 just above P’boro has LPG lit up on sign, it is 99.9p / litre 😳

But we maybe need to get used to these sort of prices 🤔👍

We certainly do Stephen, and will be calling in on the way back from Cambridge next Wednesday. :) Currently showing at £0.69.9ppl

You and us are quite lucky in our area, as we have 5 - 6 Autogas outlets between Bourne and Fengate, with Shell and Esso being the dearest. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
