Off to France soon and will need to fill up on GPL while over there. How tight should the adaptors be screwed into the existing (bayonet) fitting? Long time since I filled up abroad and I seem to remember the fitting leaked last time I used it. I thought the ribber "O" ring had hardened with the temperature of the liquid gas and leaked. Wasn't in much of a position to do a detailed analysis as I just wanted to disconnect before something blew up!

Good hand tight, I always take a cloth to get a grip plus it helps undoing once filled as the cold gas seems to seal it on more.

Yep hand tight, when filling up in Belgium I always have a pair of water pump pliers handy as with their screw on connector a couple of times I've not been able to get it off my adaptor. I think Germany & Austria use the same fitting.

Hand tight, i've had no leaks or difficulty removing, but be aware that the adaptor may be cold so maybe use a glove which will also give extra purchase when removing.

Thanks all. I usually use gloves. Guess I didn’t tighten it enough before.
