Hi, I'm looking for reduced term insurance for the motorhome. I plan to sell it soon and hence don't want to commit to a year. Does anyone have any useful suggestions please?

Regards,
S.

You could insure it for a year but pay it monthly ... usually if you cancel you don't have anything else to pay ... that's what I found when I paid for one of my Smart cars monthly.

Short term insurance usually very expensive with do what Mel suggests or insure for a year and cancel when no longer need, some companies like ÑFU don't charge other charge £15 or £25 for cancellation still probably a lot cheaper than short term insurance

Is that not likely to compromise getting insurance cover or higher premiums at a later date due to a non payer marker against you ?

Nothing wrong with doing what I've suggested at all ... people sell cars all the time mid-policy and just cancel it and by choosing to pay monthly the cost is spread over the 12 months (sometime with a bit of a higher overall premium) so there's usually nothing extra to pay and you won't be classed as a 'non-payer' at all as you have been paying it.

I read your original post but for some reason had not mentally processed it and read it as just stop paying hence my post but having re-read your post the important word "cancel" has now registered with the grey matter, Ooopps.

Do check before taking out a policy if you can cancel if paying monthly. Some of these schemes use a loan from a credit company to pay the full annual premium to the insurer and the monthly payments are then repayments of the loan. These are not so easy to cancel. :)
