we really need to cruise at 100k to stay in our torque range in top gear in hilly country.

I know exactly what you mean. Usually I have a look around to see if there is any bushes behind which gendarmes will be hiding and ......vrooommmmm downhill first , to be able to up the hill! And even so, Max always ends in the "slow vehicle lane":(:sleep:

Trouble is the gendarm know exactly where to hide to catch people that probably stay within the speed limit most of the time except in circumstances like the above. One frustrated motorist in Marseille actually threw a Grenade at the Gendarme that were hiding on the side of the road.
